Get To Know Teenie Kent, a 17 year old senior at Richfield high school. She has a 4.0 GPA and loves playing basketball, and hanging out with her sisters Michelle and Sasha.

Teenie is no stranger to IdahoSports.com. In 2008 she was recognized as having one of the “coolest names of the tournament” awards and in 2009 she was the “IdahoSports.com Player of the Championship Game”.

Perhaps Teenie is summed up best by Mike Smith, principal at Richfield HS, "This young lady voluntarily coached our junior high girl’s basketball and helped with our elementary weekend basketball program in our community. She has been involved with several community service projects through our school’s leadership class. Teenie is an outstanding student, athlete and citizen in our school and community."

Teenie Kent - Richfield High School

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a senior at Richfield High School and absolutely love to play basketball! I never go by my first name Cristina but instead by my nickname Teenie. I have been around basketball my whole life because my dad is my coach. I have three sisters, Lacy, Michelle, and Sasha and one brother, Steven. I am a very competitive person and a stubborn perfectionist! haha

What are your team's biggest strengths this year?
I would definitely have to say our height...no I'm just kidding! We are very small this year (Lets just say I will be one of the biggest girls on the team and I'm barely cutting 5'4) A huge strength for our team this year will be our drive to win and the skills we developed in the off season.

What team are you most excited to play every year? Why?
The team I am most excited to play every year is Dietrich, hands down! They are right next door to us and I love to see the look on Coach Acey Shaw's face when he says, "Don't let her shoot and I drain a three!" Hahaha I hope you read this Acey : ) They are one of those small town rivals that you always get pumped to play against!

What is your favorite sport to watch? Participate in?
Basketball. I can't really keep up with the other sports like football because I never know where the ball is. My favorite sport to participate in would also have to be basketball.

Favorite high school memory, so far?
Winning state basketball last year with my two sisters and having an undefeated season! Our team last year got along so well and we were all friends!

Who is your favorite teacher? Why?
I'm going to say Mr. Kent (my dad) on this one. Why? He might make me run extra at xcountry practice if I don't. I'm just kidding, but he is the math teacher and it is probably my best subject.

When it is all over, what will you miss most about high school?
I will miss having the opportunity of being able to play different sports all year. I will also miss all the late nights of hanging out with my friends and going to the movies. The hectic homecoming weeks where no different grade levels get along and all the fun dances like Prom. But most importantly I will miss staying up all night talking to my sisters about absolutely nothing important and not being able to get up in the morning!!

What kind of car gets you around town?
A gold hyundai elantra but most of the time I just walk to school. It's nice living only a block away!

What is your most memorable moment in a game?
My freshman year when I made a three pointer against Butte County that put us ahead with ten seconds left! The game was a total nail biter and it was so loud in the gym!

What is your most embarrassing moment of all time?
We had a pep assembly the day before we left for state volleyball my sophomore year, and each class had to make a pyramid. I fell off the pyramid and had to be taken to the hospital because I had a concussion! It was so embarrassing!!!

It's the weekend. Sit at home or out on the town?
Spend my day working at Piper's (local grocery store) where I attempt to try out my new Spanish skills on customers....I have a ways to go before I can speak fluently!

What was the last song you listened to?
Viva La Vida, unfortunately

Favorite food?
Ramen noodles and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches! It's all I know how to make so it's all I eat! haha

What is something most people do not know about you?
I am a total clean freak! I am a bit crazy with some things too, like I won't sleep in my bed if it's not made, I also won't let anyone sleep in bed if they don't shower first and I cannot stand it when other people fold towels! I don't know why but it's just one of my pet peeves! I know...it's weird!

Any thoughts on where you want to go to college?
I really want to go play basketball somewhere, so I'm going to wait to see if I get any offers. Hopefully I do : )

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?
My idea of the perfect job would be one where I don't have to wake up too early! It would be nice if I got to meet a lot of new people and talk to them all day! I love to talk!!

What is the best advice you have ever received?
A friend just reminded me that "Life is good!" and that it is! Whenever I am doing something I don't want to do, I just tell myself, "LIFE IS GOOD!"

100 years from now, when your name is mentioned, how do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as a hardworking student and a dedicated athlete! Someone who never gave up on their goals and strived for their best! I want to be remembered as someone that younger student athletes could look up to and respect.

Now...to make sure you are paying attention..What is your favorite high school sports web site?
IDAHOSPORTS.COM!!! What else?
