Get To Know Dillon Griggs, a 17 year old senior at Highland high school. He is a two year starter at defensive back for the Rams and has had more fumble recoveries and picks than anyone else in the High Country 5A East conference. He's also got some smarts, with a 3.76 GPA.

Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am a 17 year old senior at Highland High School in Pocatello. I am 5' 9" and 160 lbs. I have reddish brown curly hair (hate it!) and green eyes. I have one 16 year old brother named Cody. I live with my brother, mom and dad and my chocolate lab named Beau. Football is my first love! Also love to long board and snow board and spending time at our family cabin in Island Park!

What are your team's biggest strengths?
We have the best coaches in the state! This year I would say we have a lot of trust for each other and a lot of heart. Our defense is very close!

What team are you most excited to play every year, and why?
I am most excited to play what ever team will be in the State Championship game against us. I would love to have back to back State Championships!

What is your favorite sport to watch? Participate in?
College and Pro Football. Football of course!

Favorite high school memory, so far?
Starting as a corner back my Junior year and playing in and winning the State Football Championship 2008!

When it is all over, what will you miss the most about high school?
The school surroundings, my friends, teachers and coaches!

Favorite teacher or coach?
My Spanish teacher Senor' Bell .. who is also my favorite Coach. Coach Bell has a big heart and makes me want to always give 110 percent....whether in the classroom or on the football field! He has always been there for me!

What kind of car gets you around town?
Bright Blue 1993 4 door Chevy Lumina! AKA "The Magic Carpet"!

Favorite food?
Any kind of seafood and my moms chocolate frosted brownies!

What is your most memorable moment in a game?
Returning an interception for almost 50 yards when playing our cross town rival Century.

What is your most embarrassing moment of all time?
Being the only senior in Coach Bells Spanish I class and how he uses me as an example in class everyday!!!

It's the weekend. Sit at home or out on the town?
Friday and Saturday...for sure out on the town with my buds.....Sundays with my family!

What is something most people do not know about you?
That sleeping is my favorite past time and the I love the snow...even more than the summer weather!

What was the last song you listened to?
IYAZ - Replay

Any thoughts on where you want to go to college?
I would love to stay in Idaho - BSU, U of Idaho, ISU or Montana Western.

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?
A job that I love and one that I am good at...and that makes me a very very good living! Maybe something in Business/Sports Management.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
Never quit or Never give up and always give 110 percent!

100 years from now, when your name is mentioned, how do you want to be remembered?
I would like to be remembered as a good friend and always took care of my family and that I always gave my all!
