Get To Know Cody Andersen, a 17 year old senior at Shelley high school. He has a 3.83 GPA and loves hiking, sports, free climbing, art, music, and long-boarding.

Playing sports at Shelley has gotten him used to winning. One day he plans on doing just that in the MLB. If you have any doubt that he answered these questions honestly, check out the last song he listened to. Would anyone really lie about that?

Cody Andersen - Shelley High School

What are your team's biggest strengths this year?
Hmmmm... we are super deep, more so than in years past. We also we have a lot of guys that I think are willing to step up to make us a top-caliber team.

What team are you most excited to play every year? Why?
Wow, I dunno.. I just love winning. I dont know if there is one team that is more exciting to beat than any other. I do love playing up though, (higher classifications) because it gives us a chance to size ourselves up and see what we are made of.

What is your favorite sport to watch? Participate in?
I like to watch Baseball Tonight (ESPN) so MLB is my favorite to watch and to play. I love all three that I play! (Baseball, Basketball, Football)

Favorite high school memory, so far?
Definitely winning championships.

Who is your favorite teacher? Why?
Barry Johnson...... durr... he is my pops! I like the drive that he gives me in the weight room, and all of the knowledge that he brings to the table (18-year college Strength and Conditioning Coach at U of U, ISU, Un. of the Pacific, WSU, BYU, and Virginia). He has made me the athlete that I am, so him cracking the whip on me isn't that bad.

When it is all over, what will you miss most about High School?
Friendships, being able to play 3 sports, and eventually the education....

What kind of car gets you around town?
Blue Ford F-250.... power stroke!

What is your most memorable moment in a game?
Sacking the Fruitland QB in the championship in '07 was pretty sick... especially when we won.

What is your most embarrassing moment of all time?
Tripping while sprinting out of the dugout in summer ball, when the BYU baseball coach was watching.

It's the weekend. Sit at home or out on the town?
I hole up in my dungeon and either read or draw really random assortments of mystical creatures.... with a black pilot V7.

What was the last song you listened to?
Love game, Lady Gaga

Favorite food?
Whole Milk, and Bratwursts!

What is something most people do not know about you?
I used to live in Virginia, I was born in Montana, I am pretty stellar at drawing with black pens, I played in Cooperstown, NY, I love my big family, and I like to long board.

Any thoughts on where you want to go to college?
I have not made a decision yet. I would like to go somewhere that I could try out both baseball and football but this kind of opportunity does not come by very often. I will be going on an LDS mission, so whoever takes me will have to deal with that.

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?
Major League Baseball....... 'nuff said :)

What is the best advice you have ever received?
"Listen to your parents." Even though I think that some of the things they say suck, I know that it is for the betterment of society.

100 years from now, when your name is mentioned, how do you want to be remembered?
Wow, well, I hope that by then I will have some great-grandkids that are successful in whatever they do, and I hope that I will be rememberd as a good person, who was down to earth, with a good family, and I hope that I did not pass away while in debt!

Now..to make sure you are paying attention... What is your favorite high school sports web site?
Idahosports.com!
