Madisen Yockey - Troy High School

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My full name is Madisen Taylor Yockey. I am a senior at Troy Jr/Sr High School in Troy, Idaho. I am the student body activities director. I have an older brother TJ. I live on a farm and we have cattle, horses and bulldogs. I show a pig at the fair every year through FFA. I play volleyball, basketball and softball. I have played and lettered on the varsity teams in all three sports since I was a freshman. I am the starting libero, pointguard and catcher. With my team I have made three trips to state in volleyball earning a state championship last year and receiving all state honors. Two trips to state in basketball getting runner up and 1 trip in softball. I enjoy anything to do with the outdoors including snowboarding, fourwheeling, wakeboarding, boating and fishing.

What are your team's biggest strengths?
Our teams greatests strengths in all sports is we aren't only a team, but also family. We are all super close and get along great. We are currently in volleyball and one of our strengths is one of my best friends Molly Swangers cannon of an arm. In basketball my biggest strength is having my other best friend Ashley Bull on the court with me and knowing she can read my thoughts and next move and I can read hers.

What team are you most excited to compete against every year, and why?
Definitely the Genesee Bulldogs. We have had a rivalry for as long as I can remember. They are usually one of the best teams and always give us a good game.

Although I love volleyball and softball, basketball is my first love.

What is your most memorable moment in a game?
Watching the ball hit the floor for the last time against Genesee to win the State Championship in volleyball last year.

It's the weekend. Sit at home or out on the town?
Saturdays, go out and hang with friends. Sundays, stay home and watch Gossip Girls.

Undecided. Somewhere to hopefully play ball.

My grandpa told me to "never give up" right before he passed away.
