Favorite high school memory, so far?
My favorite memory in high school so far is winning State in the 800m my sophomore year. It was a totally unexpected win and was the most exciting moment of my life. I had only ran the 800 three times prior to state and took 8 seconds off of my previous time to win the state title.

What is your most embarrassing moment of all time?
My most embarrassing moment was in a basketball tournament game the summer before my freshmen year of high school. We were playing Skyview High School which has a main gym and then two upstairs gyms on either side. There were three games going on simultaneously and we were in one of the upper gyms. I was dribbling down the court and heard people yelling, “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5..” I thought that the half must be ending so I stopped 3 feet in front of the 3 point line and attempted to make a buzzer shot. My shot was an airball with plenty of arc. My coach looked at me with disbelief. I then looked at the scoreboard and saw that we still had 10 minutes left. It was the people in the other gym counting down the time.

It's the weekend. Sit at home or out on the town?
I live in New Plymouth. I guess I’ll stay home.

What is something most people do not know about you?
I have a love-hate relationship with running. My classmates always make comments about how I “love” to run. I do love to run most of the time. But running is a tough sport and I don’t always like it. It requires lots of dedication depending on how good you want to be and many things aside from running. Like ice baths. I take one almost every day and they don’t get any warmer.
|
What was the last song you listened to?
I enjoy listening to country music. Except when I run.
|
Any thoughts on where you want to go to college?
I would like to attend Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. It is a small liberal arts college that has outstanding academics with a great pre-med program. I also would love to run cross country and track there. I plan on majoring in kinesiology.
|
When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?
A perfect job for me would be in the medical field. Health is very interesting to me and I would enjoy having a career in which I help people.
|
What is the best advice you have ever received and from who?
My dad always tells me, “Do what you can and can the rest.” I love this saying.
|
100 years from now, when your name is mentioned, how do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as someone who always tried her hardest and enjoyed life to the fullest.
