Kootenai junior, Dakota Amy
A great student athlete is made up of many things: academic success, leadership abilities, athletic abilities and most importantly, moral character. We will be searching for the best of the best every week and rewarding them
as an "IdahoSports.com Student Athlete of the Week".
Kootenai High School Junior Dakota Amy has been tabbed as the IdahoSports.com North Student-Athlete of the Week!
Amy, an all-North Star League selection a year ago at tight end, maintains a 4.0 GPA (highest in his class) while holding rank as a student council president at KHS. He is also a letterman in basketball and track.
In last fridays NSL clash between front runners Wallace and Kootenai, Amy recorded 10 solo tackles, 3 sacks, and hauled in two touchdown passes in the Warriors' 54-14 drubbing of the Miners.
"Dakota is quiet leader," says assistant coach and father, Casey Amy. " He leads more by example on and off the field, he is excellent in the classroom and always pushes the football team in practice and during games."
