As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
This year our inside game is stronger, as well as our perimeter play. Heather Waldemar and Madi Smith will be nice additions to our inside game along with Brooke Pierce. Paige Durrant is a great shooter, with a quick release making it hard to guard. Carly Parker does a good job taking care of the ball. Kealee Hewatt and Danielle Jorgensen are expected to contribute on our perimeter as well.

Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Taking care of the ball and limiting our turnovers.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
We have scrappy, hardnosed players who work very hard. Carly Parker and Kealee Hewatt are feisty guards who do a good job putting pressure on the ball. Heather Waldemar is a strong player who will be a good defensive presence underneath for us.

Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Defensive rebounding and defensive pressure on the ball.

Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season?
Work hard and get better every day.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
I really like the way the girls work hard and their competiveness. I think we have a very balanced team with good post players and guards that are able to handle the ball and shoot well. With a balanced team and hard work I think we will be successful and fun to watch.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
The Poky/Century game. This game is an in-town rivalry game and a conference game with both teams very talented and competitive.

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
We have to be able to play together and execute offensively and defensively.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball?
I love the game of basketball and I enjoy working with kids and seeing them grow and succeed in sports and in life.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
There is great pride at Pocatello High School from the student body to the faculty with a very supportive administration.
