Who do you have coming back this year?
Seniors: Reed Palermo (QB), Monroe Williams (Oline Dline), Mark McNaghten (Oline, Dline)

Any “Key Players” that you lost from last year?
Class of 2014 11 players, including All state/All Conference players Kade Kress, Austin Funkhouser, Dillan Henslee, Clint Clifford, Hernan Sandoval, Blake Bell, Marcus Emerson, Sonny Mays and Landon Goolsby

Do you have any new incoming “impact” players?
Hope to see some big things from Junior RB’s Dillan Herrington and Jacob Salas
As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
Strengths are yet to be determined. Our focus will be on moving the chains and keeping the field in our advantage.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
Strengths will have to come from our height. We have been vertically challenged over the past couple of years. With length we hope to challenge QBs throwing angles and shorten the playing field.

Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year:
We will have to know how to adjust to offenses that move players with motion prior to the snap.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
We’re rebuilding from 4 consecutive District Championships and two State Titles. This team will have to make it’s own destiny and play a very difficult schedule. We have full intentions of making the play-offs this year.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
Both games with Shoshone and Glenns Ferry will be big games for us and will have a big impact on the play-offs.

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Conditioning will be huge as we may only have 13-14 players to call on for four quarters.

If you could change one rule in high school football, what would it be?
In High School football a Qb cannot throw a ball out of bounds to protect himself without drawing a grounding penalty. In a day when we are trying to reduce concussions it’s crazy that college and pro Qbs can use this to protect themselves but not in High School.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school football?
It’s a great way be involved with students who choose to be active in school activities and promote excellence in the classroom as well as the athletic fields.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
Hagerman has many parents as well as Alumni who have shown great support for their student athletes.
