Residing in a tough conference made things difficult for Jerome in the first year of the Jeremy Munroe era, albeit one where great strides were taken.

The end result was a 10-13 record, with plenty of tight results late in the season that could have gone either way. There is plenty of turnover from that roster, which will make coming together as unit in non-conference play a key focus area.

For Coach Munroe, that is the X-Factor for a successful season.

"Coming together at the right time and hard work. The conference is deep and should be fun."

Second Team All-Conference player Kaela McClure is one of the few returners. Her surrounding cast is heavy on freshman and juniors including junior post Jordan Hill and wing Tiffani Warren.

Finding secondary scoring options and building a communication line on defense will be a big task for the Tigers.

Munroe says the guard play and ability to play up-tempo are the two main strengths on offense, while length and quickness lead the defense.

"We are young and athletic," said Munroe. "I hope we can gel and use that athleticism."

Nicole Cook is another key returner who joins McClure. Each of their experiences from tight games last season should help give confidence in the huddle that there are options who have been there before at the varsity level.

The style of play for Jerome should be fun to watch, as the Tigers look to go with a high effort and intensity run and gun style. The hope is to force some turnovers on the defensive end to get out in the open floor for easy shots on offense.

In order for that to happen the communication of all five players on the floor at any given time is the big key. Jerome has to come together as a unit during non-conference play to get ready for what is always a tough conference in district four.
