Girls State Tournament - 4A Day One Game Picks
Back again this year, here are my daily state tournament game picks. Love 'em or hate 'em, they are guaranteed to be 100% right about 26% of the time.

Nampa over Twin Falls 53-50
Nampa is probably the most under-rated team in the state. If All-Idaho post Danielle Jardine (16 ppg, 12 rpg) goes off, it could spell trouble for whoever they are playing. Twin Fallsm though is 20-2 and spent most of the year ranked #2 in the state. They cruised through districts and are riding a 19-game winning streak. Team leaders Kaitlyn Merritt and Regan Harr won't let that streak die without a fight.

Century over Middleton 42-38
Century brings to state a pretty young group of girls. One of those youngsters is 6'2" Jr Post Henny Hearn. Middleton is back yet again, this time led by two seasoned seniors, D’Rae Tullock and Allison Cossins. Don't forget about head coach Andy Jones. The guy knows how to win. This should be a great match-up.

Pocatello over Sandpoint 46-40
The East vs The North. Brock Gunter has done a great job since he took over as head coach of the Indians after the more-than-fairly-ridiculous firing of long-time head coach Laraine Cook at the very start of the season. Coming is as Queens of the North, The Lady Bulldogs won their first district title since 1982, and are back at state for the first time since 2004.

Skyview over Burley 55-38
Skyview is without a doubt the team to beat in the 4A tournament. The Hawks are on a 22-game winning streak led by their two college-bound seniors, Leah Bonner and Bailey Pasta. This is head coach Cindy Pasta's 18th season as skipper of the Hawks, but there are no blue trophies in the case for girls basketball at Skyview High School. Is this the year? The 15-9 Burley Bobcats get to be the first team to find out. Led by Sr. forward, Chelsee Baker, the Bobcats will have to play the game of their life to have a chance, but this is why they play the game, right?
