Lapwai over Challis 55-36
Hey, look. Lapwai is playing in the state tournament. Yawn. Would it really be a girls state tournament if Lapwai wasn't there? Coach Shawn Spencer is in his 17th season leading the Lady Wildcats. Names we have heard at state tournaments past are making a comeback this year as super-freshman guard, Iris Domebo along with Cyra Cunningham and Taylor Whitney down low, lead a very talented Lapwai team that just continues to reload year after year.  Challis comes in at 13-10, but knocked of #4 ranked Grace in the district tournament. They are playing some good ball right now, and state is all about playing the best you have all season.

Rimrock over Genesee 45-39
As the #2 seed out of district 3, the Raiders of Rimrock boast a 19-3 record coming in to state. Led by seniors Kyla Jewett, Sami Bachman and Desi Meyers, Rimrock is hoping to avoid going two-and-out like last year. Their Achilles Heel all year has been Notus who beat them twice this season. If they play their cards right, they might get the chance to win the one that matters Saturday morning at the Ford Idaho Center. Genesee had to win a play-in game to get to state, but as the saying goes, "It doesn't matter how you get there as long as you get there". Led in scoring by Soph guard Kaleigh Ranisate, the Bulldogs have the potential to really surprise some teams.

Prairie over Hagerman 65-52
A great match-up that is really a shame we have to see in the first game at state. Hagerman is the only unbeaten team in the girls tournament, led y the DYnamic Duo of seniors Larissa Knight and Aly Sauer. Knight Knight is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,238 points and the 6'4" Saur can pretty much do what she wants in the paint. Prairie is back at state for the fourth year in a row, led by senior forward Kyndahl Ulmer, who actually won a state title as  Kamiah Kub last year. Head coach Lori Mader will have her 18-4 team ready to play.

Grace over Notus 56-43

The 16-7 Grace Grizzlies punched their ticket to state by way of a play-in game, beating Idaho City 48-26. Playing a very tough district tournament could give Grace an edge of the competition. At 13-10, the Pirates of Notus might not have the best record at state, but 10 of those wins have all come in a row at the end of the season, including the district championship game. Notus is playing their best basketball right now behind the play of a trifecta of sophomores, Alana Riley, Gabby Okamura and Jacylinn Parra.
