Beard twins were both all conference, both are 4-year varsity players.

Any “Key Players” that you lost from last year?
Austin Tews guard 1st team all state, Jed Olyer wing 2nd team all state, Kyle Ackerman, Cortland Bailey "Panda" 6'5"280 lbs

Do you have any new incoming “impact” players?
Kaleb Whitlock is an very impressive athlete. Was on the varsity and saw limited action last year but is very gifted.
As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
Good ball handling, good shooting, good quickness

Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year:
We don't have the inside game as last year and will have to find some good options for us to be a balanced team

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
The Beard twins are outstanding defenders as in Kaleb Whitlock.

Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Other players are not as gifted athletically so we will have to find some options to play. Showcase the three above and be solid with the others.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
To see what Whitlock can do. He had a great summer and is very talented. The Beard twins are as good as they get for a coach. Wonderful young men.

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Chemistry, defining roles and piecing it together.

If you could change one rule in high school basketball, what would it be?
I think the game has become too rough. I can dig game tapes out from the 80's and 90's even early 2000's and it was a cleaner game. Refs try to call fouls by whether there is an advantage gained rather than just calling a foul when they see one. It should be a game of skill not who can knock the other one around the most.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball?
The kids, the friendships, the challenges.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
I don't teach there, retired. But the kids I have worked with have been a pleasure and very willing to do what we have asked of them.
