Team Preview

The Loggers, who play in the rugged 1A Division I White Pine League, return six players from last year's 8-10 team.

Back for Potlatch are Danicka Musick, a 5-8 senior forward; Makayla Moore, a 5-8 senior post; Cassie Carpenter, a 5-5 senior point guard; Hattie Marshall, a 5-5 junior wing; Brianna Ackerman, a 5-7 senior forward; and Reanna Brent, a 5-6 senior wing.

A couple of key losses from last season, Potlatch coach Deborah Strong said, are guard Ashli Woodin, a strong 3-point shooter; and guard Kelsey Butterfield, who provided strong leadership.

A couple of newcomers who could help, Strong said, are Jenny Sapp, a 5-9 senior post; and Callee Beebe, a 5-10 junior post.
Strong, in her seventh season as Potlatch coach, said teamwork is a strength of the team offensively, and balanced scoring is the goal.

Defensively, Strong said she hopes the Loggers are able to apply more pressure this season.

The X-factor this year, she said, is if her team can "finish."

Discipline and attitude is a motto/theme for the team this year, said Strong, who said she coaches high school basketball for the "love of the game."
