Previous Experience: Previously, Coach Simpson coached the Timberline Boys Program as the JV Coach and Varsity Assistant coach since 2002. He was the Sophomore Boys Coach at Mountain View for the 2001-2002 season, and prior to that year was an assistant coach with the Timberline Sophomore Boys team for 3 years

Assistant Coaches:
Varsity Assistant - Kevin Shepherdson, who has been with the program for more than a decade. Maggie Hickie (Formally O'hara) is the JV coach. She was a player on the state title team, and went on to play at University of Washington.
Sophomore coach is Annie Mintz, she is new to the program this year, and played basketball at Masters University.

Team Preview

Timberline will try and rebound from a tough 2013-14 season where the Wolves went 3-17, and lost two key players in Tara Hall who averaged 17 points per game and Malika Kasumu who led the Wolves in rebounding at nearly nine a game.
In regards to scoring points this season, Coach Todd Simpson is looking for some of his younger talent to step up and fill that role in the offense.
He said, ”Replacing Tara’s scoring is going to be a big challenge, and that is going to have to happen as a team because we do not have any one person who is able to score as consistently as Tara did last season."
Timberline will be returning two starters from last season, #13 Rachel Brand (Senior Post) who they lost to a shoulder injury half way through the season, and #10 Carly Frank (Senior Guard) who started the majority of the Wolves games last season.
Players to watch for this upcoming season will be Lilia Hunt (Sophomore Post), #20 Sarah Briggs (Junior Post), and Jordan Adams, a Freshman Guard. Lilia Hunt and Jordan Adams are two underclassmen that could make a huge impact for Timberline this season.
The Wolves goal for the season is to get back to the state tournament where they haven’t been since going to three consecutive state title games during the 2002-2004 seasons (State Champions 2003).
Coach Simpson said the key for us to returning to the state tournament is: “For us to develop our younger players throughout the course of the year and getting them comfortable in our system and confident in their abilities to play at the varsity level. My hope is that they learn quickly and we are playing our best basketball by the time the district tournament rolls around.”
Timberline is in for another challenging year to get back to the top half of the Southern Idaho Conference, but Coach Simpson believes his team is the most talented team he has had since he started coaching the Wolves three seasons ago.
Timberline will be a team to watch out for this season, and could very well sneak up on some of their opponents with their depth and their barrage of young talent.
