As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
Good return of skill players, Jake Bruner QB, Rhett Schlader and Isaiah Shears at WR and Hunter McWilliams and Lucas Arnzen at RB. We have depth in most of those positions and good size and speed.

Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Turnovers hurt us at critical times last year. We will make that an emphasis on offense this year.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
Tanner Ross DE, Lucas Arnzen DE, Mason Dalgliesh DB, Calvin Hinkelman LB. Focus this year is being much more physical and aggressive than the past few years. Overall team speed and strength are going to be keys for us this year.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
Very good athleticism and desire to win. Had a great off-season of workouts and the players are bigger and stronger than last year.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
Week 1 Sept. 5th at Genesee and Oct. 10th vs. Troy. Genesee is a big week 1 league game that always has playoff implications. Game vs. Troy will give us a rematch of last year’s semi final loss by 6 in the playoffs.

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Completely new offensive line. It is vital that they make the transition to the varsity level.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school football?
Love working with the athletes and there is nothing like Friday night football in any other sport.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
Great kids and community that are avid Pirate Fans!
