Written by: David Bashore

After winning 2/3 of its games in the 2014-15 season and making a trip to the 4A state tournament, Lakeland is aiming for bigger and better things in 2015-16.

Lakeland has four key players coming back from last season’s 16-win team: senior forward Andrew Knight, senior guards Forest Zubaly and Dan McDevitt, and sophomore guard Kaden Davis.

Among those players, the Hawks have some decent shooting ability, according to coach Dave Stockwell, and they work hard on the defensive end of the floor. Rebounding at both ends will be a critical need of improvement in order to be successful this season.

Stockwell says his team works hard and is eager to learn and keep improving. If the Hawks can defend and rebound, he says, they will be in with a chance to return to state in March
