Team Preview

Written by: Brandon McIntosh

After nine seasons, the Warriors will have a change in leadership. However, this voice isn’t new. It is former coach Doug Napierla. He will be back in the coaching seat after taking a nine year absence.

Napierla is excited to be back on the sideline coaching. He will have a few matters that he will have to tackle. The Warriors will not be very deep and won’t be able to maintain a high-octane offense like many teams are looking to go to these days. The Warriors leader will be looking for his team to get the most out of every possession and play defense to the best of their ability.

The Warriors will have three starters back from last year including All-North Star selection and junior post Kaili Gentry. Joining Gentry will be seniors (post) Paxton Dotson and (guard) Michaela LaFountaine. Those three Warriors will be joined by incoming freshmen and sister of Michaela, guard Kennedy LaFountaine. Missing in action and hoping to return sometime in January is senior Brooke Larson, who suffered a knee injury in the off-season. She hopes to be back before the post-season to help her Warrior teammates down the stretch.
