Trust.

It can have different meanings to different people, but to Bonneville Lady Bees head coach Scott Taylor, it was the difference between wins and losses last season.

Bonneville struggled to a 5-17 overall record last season, going two-and-out in the district tournament.

But in his second year as head coach, Taylor believes his team is turning a corner.

"We have good shooters and move the ball well", said Taylor. "It's a matter of executing on offense and trusting our teammates that can greatly improve our team."

Taylor said 'trusting each other' was the key to their season. As of Nov. 24, the Bees seem to be doing well with that aspect of teamwork as they are off to a 2-0 start.

Bonneville returns a few starters from last year, including senior Kylie Lott, a 5'10 post, and junior Haylie Keck, a 5'11 guard. Also returning to the lineup is senior guard Savannah Marley, who had her junior year cut short due to torn ACL.

Look for 6'0 sophomore post Cadee Berret to make some noise underneath the hoop for the Lady Bees too.

The Bees' jump to the 5A classification will also garner a new conference schedule against familiar foes. Bonneville had played for many years against Madison and Hillcrest in conference play. They rejoin the Bobcats and the Knights along with Idaho Falls, Skyline, and Highland in the 5A District 5-6 conference.

Taylor pointed to a series of games that could really help determine the progression of his 2014-15 squad: The Green River, Wyoming Tournament during the Christmas break.

"We will be playing against schools that have enrollments of over 2,000 students."

That should help prepare the Lady Bees for their transition into the 5A ranks and, should they reach state, playing against the much larger 5A schools from around Idaho.
