Coming off of back-to-back one-win seasons, the Troy Trojans will look to reverse fortunes in 2022 under new head coach Shawn Buchanan. All-conference linebacker Chandler Blazzard returns for his senior season to lead the way for the Trojans and junior Kaiden Strunk is expected to help contribute as well.

Blazzard is a versatile player. On any given night, you could see him in several different spots on the field in an effort to maximize matchups and create big plays.

Breaking out of a funk is hard enough, but when you’re trying to do it in the 1A Division 1 Whitepine League, it gets even tougher. After opening the season on August 26 at Deary, the Trojans will have to make the trek to Cottonwood and square off against perennial state power Prairie. Then, the week after that, it’s a home date against playoff hopeful Genesee.

A road win to open the season would be a big boost for Troy, especially with a rigorous league schedule ahead of them.
