SOUTHERN IDAHO CONFERENCE: RIVER DIVISION

Boise 35, Mountain View 21

Boise (3-0, 5-0) remained unbeaten with a breakthrough win over Mountain View (1-2, 3-2) on Thursday night at Dona Larsen Park.  Trevor Schoolfield completed 20-of-24 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns for the Brave, and Cooper Smith scored three times, as well.  Mountain View quarterback Justin McGee threw for 267 yards and two scores, and also rushed for 97 yards.

Eagle 34, Nampa 10

The Mustangs (3-0, 5-0) remained tied with Boise atop the SIC River Division with a late surge over Nampa.  The Mustangs stuck to the ground, as Noah Burnham rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Davis Harsin added 69 yards and two TDs rushing.

Owyhee 31, Borah 21

The Storm (2-2, 4-2) moved into third place in the SIC River Division with a win over Borah (2-2, 4-2).  Matt Irwin threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.  Borah was paced by running back Jevon Nelson, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown, while also grabbing seven passes for 77 yards.


SOUTHERN IDAHO CONFERENCE: FOOTHILLS DIVISION

Rocky Mountain 33, Centennial 19

The Grizzlies (2-0, 3-2) stayed unbeaten in SIC Foothills play, although Centennial (1-1, 1-4) gave them a challenge all the way through.  The Grizzlies rushed for 232 yards as a team in the win, while Shawn Thompson hit three field goals.  Centennial fullback Jordan Kafari rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Capital 36, Timberline 14

The Eagles (1-1, 2-3) earned their first win in SIC Foothills play with a runaway over Timberline (0-2, 0-5).  Sophomore quarterback Brayden Dudley completed 20-of-26 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for a TD.  Timberline quarterback Jack Brant threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns to Lucas Midgett.


NON-CONFERENCE

Post Falls 55, Lakeland 0

Class 5A Post Falls (4-1) scored early and often on its Homecoming night in a win over a short-handed Class 4A Lakeland (3-3).  Tevin Burns rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while Isaac McKeown threw for 172 yards and a pair of scores to Asher Bowie.  Lakeland was playing without starting quarterback Haydon Benson and starting running back Lovie Weil.

Woodinville (WA) 28, Coeur d’Alene 16

Despite out-gaining Woodvinville in total yardage 390-276, turnovers and penalties plagued the Vikings (3-2) in a Thursday night road loss.  Caden Symons threw a nine-yard touchdown to Kai Wheeler, Kolbe Coey scored ona  three-yard run, and Jayson Cady hit a 26-yard field goal for the Vikings.

Lake City 34, Moscow 7

The Class 4A Bears (1-4) struck first on a two-yard run by quarterback Noah Velasco, but Class 5A Lake City (2-3) scored the next 34 points to pick up the win.  Avrey Cherry threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns for Lake City. Jacob Hill caught seven passes for 92 yards and two scores Velasco finished with 184 yards passing for the Bears.

Sandpoint 41, Lewiston 22

Class 4A Sandpoint (2-3) churned out the rushing yardage in a breakthrough win over Class 5A Lewiston (2-3).  Kody Brewster (106 yards, 2 TDs), Max Frank (82 yards, 1 TD) and Shane Sherrill (25 yards, 1 TD) all ran hard, and Drew Lehman passed for 71 yards and a score to Brewster.  Lewiston’s Drew Hottinger threw a pair of touchdowns to Jayden Cobley, and also ran for a TD.

Meridian 21, Highland 14

A 14-14 deadlock was broken by Meridian (3-2) in the third quarter of play, when Zeke Martinez found Rylie Byington for a 20-yard touchdown pass.  Meridian’s defense would hold from there in the non-conference win.  Martinez also threw a touchdown to pass to Marco Del Rio, and Del Rio scored on a short run.  Highland (4-1) running back Jackson Riddle found the end zone twice.

Middleton 49, Thunder Ridge 24

Thunder Ridge (0-6) started hot, leading 17-7 after one quarter of play.  But Middleton (4-2) slowly pulled away to earn the non-conference win.  Cash Weeks completed 10-of-16 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns in the win, and also scored on a one-yard run.  Colton Severa caught two touchdown passes, while Jordan Leonard had 104 yards and a score on four grabs.  Defensively, Jake Perez and Weston Mills both returned interceptions for touchdowns.

Madison 20, Preston 15

Class 5A Madison (4-2) used its defense to preserve a narrow win over Class 4A Preston (2-4).  The Bobcats came away with five takeaways and a pair of goal-line stands on defense, while Hazen Torgerson and Jett Summers each threw touchdown passes on offense.  Torgerson hit Brock Hammond, while Summers connected with Mason Phillips for the game-winning score early in the fourth quarter.  Barkley Beck also scored on a TD run.  Karson Winder scored both of Preston’s touchdowns, scoring on a two-yard run and an 80-yard pick six that briefly gave the Indians a 15-14 lead.

Rigby 58, Blackfoot 3

Class 4A Blackfoot (0-5) scored the first points of the game on a 35-yard field goal by Javian Ballesteros, but Class 5A Rigby (2-3) piled on the points from there in a Homecoming win.   Luke Flowers threw three touchdown passes (to Mason Burgess, Kade Steffler and Drew Caldwell).  Caldwell also returned an interception 25 yards for a score.  Payton Klingler and Jerzey Duenes each scored rushing TDs.  And punter Reggie Groom scored on a fake punt, as he raced 48 yards for a touchdown.
