SNAKE RIVER VALLEY CONFERENCE

Homedale 54, Parma 7

Homedale’s starters were resting by the second possession of the second quarter in an SRV win over Parma (0-1, 0-5).  By that point, the Trojans (1-0, 5-0) had built up a 28-0 lead thanks to a 13-yard touchdown run by Andrew Marston, a seven-yard pass from Dillon Fine to Rafael Cuenca, a 16-yard fumble return for a score by Angel Nolasco, and a 31-yard TD pass from Fine to Luke Henry.

Weiser 56, Payette 8

Weiser (1-0, 5-0) used a number of big plays to blow past Payette (0-1, 1-4) in their SRV opener.  Brock Spencer returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown, while Jack Shirts had a 74-yard pick six.  Kolin Cook completed 8-of-10 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns to Spencer, while Kaleb Grove rushed for two TDs.  Colby Walker and Kash Cobb also found the end zone of the ground.  Payette scored on a touchdown pass from Darrien Pecunia to Tyler Feeley.

McCall-Donnelly 37, Fruitland 14

The Vandals (1-0, 4-0) outgained Fruitland (0-1, 0-5) 278-60 in total yardage.  Maddox Arnold passed for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while the McCall-Donnelly ground game cranked out 189 yards and two scores.  The Vandals also returned a punt for touchdown, while both of Fruitland’s scores came on special teams (a 66-yard punt return and a 60-yard kickoff return.)


SAWTOOTH CENTRAL IDAHO CONFERENCE

Buhl 29, Wood River 7

Buhl (1-0, 3-2) won its SCIC opener over Wood River (1-1, 2-4) thanks to a smothering defensive effort.  Kaiden Villaro collected three sacks on that side of the ball, while Bowen Brunson came away with an interception.  Offensively, Zack Azevedo threw a pair of TDs to Kyler Kelly.  The Indians rushed for 257 yards as a team, while limiting Wood River to just 48 yards on the ground.


NON-CONFERENCE

Timberlake 56, St. Maries 14

Class 3A Timberlake (4-2) showed off its rushing prowess once again, as Cooper Lenz rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on just ten carries.  Vaughn Higgins (47 yards), Caius Tebbe (40), Cayden Knight (38) and Jonathan Hansen (25) all scored a rushing touchdown, as well.  Cole Meidinger threw a pair of TD passes to Jacob Yetter, as well.  Class 2A St. Maries (1-4) scored on a 20-yard pass from Jack Barta to Julien Ceja-Grimaldo and a one-yard run by Trey Gibson.

East Valley (WA) 34, Bonners Ferry 14

The Badgers (1-4) fell in a non-league game in Spokane on Friday.  Brody Rice threw a touchdown pass in the loss.

Kimberly 70, Mountain Home 7

Eight different Bulldogs found the end zone in a runaway win for Kimberly (5-0) over Mountain Home (1-4).  Kade Larson completed 10-of-14 passes for 216 yards and five touchdowns, while Parker Stringham and MaCraye Bruning also threw touchdown passes.  Larson and Damon Taylor each scored on the ground, while Kasen Hammond, Michael Goff, Jackson May, Ayden Heater and Mason Jensen all caught TDs.  Ryker Larson grabbed a pair of touchdown receptions.

Declo 50, Gooding 0

Class 2A Declo (5-0) held a slim 8-0 lead over Class 3A Gooding (1-4) midway through the second quarter, thanks to a rushing touchdown from quarterback Will Garrard.  In the blink of an eye, the Hornets led 29-0 at halftime thanks to a 38-yard punt return TD from Gavin Rasmussen, a touchdown pass from Garrard to Max Snedaker, and another TD run from Garrad.  The Hornets cruised from there to the non-conference win.

Wendell 35, Filer 7

Jesse Chavez rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns as Class 2A Wendell (4-2) romped to a win over Class 3A Filer (0-5).  Alex Hirai completed 13-of-19 passes for 192 yards and two TDs, while Mikey Talbert caught five passes for 132 yards and both scores.  Defensively, Wyett Oden registered nine tackles and an interception, while Ethan Olander came away with two picks.

Snake River 20, South Fremont 0

The Panthers (3-2) controlled the clock and received rushing touchdowns from Johnny Jones, Peyton Williams and Daniel Molina in a shutout win over South Fremont (1-5).

Sugar-Salem 63, Marsh Valley 6

The Diggers (5-0) rolled up 454 yards of total offense, including 342 on the ground, in a lopsided win over Marsh Valley (0-5).  Carson Harris rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns, while Dawson McInelly added 65 yards and two scores.  Josiah Bosco, Tate Cutler, and Kason Williams also scored on the ground.  James Chase completed 7-of-10 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown to Bosco.

Teton 40, American Falls 0

In a rain-soaked field at Amercian Falls, the Timberwolves (4-0) bested the Beavers (3-3) in a non-conference affair.  Jack Nelson threw touchdown passes to Thomas Heuseveldt and Ty Brown, and also rushed for a score.
