There was no shortage of incredible teams, across a wide variety of sports, from every corner of the state this past year.  But the question remains: which one was truly the best?

With that, we’d like to introduce: the IdahoSports.com Team of the Year competition.

Here’s how it works.  We’ve selected 16 of Idaho’s best state champions from the past school year and randomly assigned them to a place on our bracket.

And after a month full of close races and outstanding vote totals, a winner has been crowned:

Congratulations to the Sugar-Salem girls soccer team, which upended the Orofino baseball team in our final vote by a 55%-45% margin.

Over 1,000 people alone voted in our final round.
