Semifinals
6A State Semifinal | #1 Owyhee 66, #5 Highland 45
No. 1 seeded Owyhee shot 45.5 percent from the field and ruled the glass in a semifinal win over No. 5 seeded Highland to continue its quest for a three-peat state championship.
The Storm had 42 rebounds—twice as much as the Rams—and 22 points in the paint in the win. The teams combined to make 15 3-pointers.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Owen Brown had 20 points and seven rebounds, Logan Haustveit had 15 points and four rebounds and Jakobe Judd had 10 points for Owyhee (20-6).
Colton Stucki had 16 points and three rebounds and Stockton Moore had 14 points, three rebounds and two assists for Highland (20-5), which will play in Saturday’s third place game.
6A State Semifinal | #3 Lake City 68, #2 Centennial 51
No. 3 seeded Lake City shot an impressive 61 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from 3-point range to defeat No. 2 seeded Centennial and reach its second consecutive 6A state title game.
The Timberwolves turned a one-point lead after the first quarter into a 21-point lead by the fourth quarter.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Joshua Watson had 22 points and six rebounds, Jordan Carlson had 22 points, four rebounds and three assists and Jackson Anderson added 13 points for Lake City (18-8), which will play No. 1 seeded Owyhee for the 6A state championship for the second year in a row.
Gabe Eddins had 15 points to lead Centennial (21-4), which will play No. 5 seeded Highland in Saturday’s third place game.
5A State Semifinal | #1 Lewiston 58, #4 Columbia 50
No. 1 seeded Lewiston survived six lead changes and eight ties to defeat No. 4 seeded Columbia and advance to Saturday’s 5A state championship game.
Lewiston made 10 3-pointers in the game, and both teams shot better than 44 percent from the field.
Lewiston’s Royce Fisher was selected as IdahoSports Player of the Game for the second time in as many days, finishing with 28 points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals. Blaze Hepburn added 14 points and four rebounds and Jordan Walker had 10 points, five assists and two steals for the Bengals (22-3).
Easton Lott had 18 points and JR Whitworth had nine points and three rebounds for Columbia (18-8), which will play in Saturday’s third place game.
5A State Semifinal | #3 Bishop Kelly 63, #2 Preston 60 (OT)
No. 3 seeded Bishop Kelly won a thriller over defending state champion and No. 2 seeded Preston in overtime to advance to its first state championship game in 10 years.
The game was tight throughout, and regulation ended with the score tied at 55-55. Preston missed a shot at the buzzer to end overtime. Both teams shot 41 percent from the field for the game and there were 10 lead changes and six ties.
Three-point shooting was the difference for Bishop Kelly, which shot 36.4 percent from beyond the arc for the game. Making five of Bishop Kelly’s eight 3s and receiving IdahoSports.com Player of the Game was Conor Goss, who finished with 25 points and four rebounds. Andrew Johnson added 12 points and six rebounds for Bishop Kelly (20-6), which will play No. 1 seeded Lewiston in Saturday’s 5A state championship game.
Parker Galloway had 21 points, four rebounds, Wayd Bailey had 17 points, two assists and two steals and Kasen Bryce had 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals for Preston (21-4), which will play No. 4 seeded Columbia in Saturday’s third place game.
4A State Semifinal | #5 Bonners Ferry 57, #1 Teton 53
No. 5 seeded Bonners Ferry held off No. 1 seeded Teton to reach its fourth consecutive 4A state title game.
The Badgers got off to a strong start, holding the Timberwolves to three points in the first quarter. Bonners Ferry led by as much as 14 points before Teton chipped away. The Badgers went 20-of-23 from the foul line for the game.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Peyton Hinthorn had 23 points, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals and went 11-of-12 from the free throw line, Sullay Abubakari had 14 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals and Ty Schrock had 11 points and went 5-of-6 on foul shots for Bonners Ferry (15-8).
Luke Nelson had a game-high 28 points, five rebounds and two steals and Bradley Brown had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals for Teton (21-6), which will play in Saturday’s third place game.
4A State Semifinal | #2 Cole Valley Christian 51, #3 Snake River 41
No. 2 seeded Cole Valley Christian extended its win streak to 17 games with a win over No. 3 seeded Snake River to advance to Saturday’s 4A state title game.
The Chargers turned 15 Snake River turnovers into 15 points and built a lead as large as 16 points by the fourth quarter.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Jamin Hughes had 13 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals and Madden Compton added 11 points and two rebounds for Cole Valley (21-4), which will play No. 5 seeded Bonners Ferry in Saturday’s 4A state championship game.
Owen Jones had 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Bridjer Howard had 11 points and seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal for Snake River (17-9), which will play No. 1 seeded Teton in an all-eastern Idaho third place game.
3A State Semifinal | #1 St. Maries 42, #4 Ririe 37
No. 1 seeded St. Maries turned 18 turnovers by No. 4 seeded Ririe into 20 points and advanced to Saturday’s 3A state title game.
The Lumberjacks did lead by as much as 14 points in a game that was close throughout.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game JJ Yearout had 17 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals and Isaiah Gustaffe added eight points, two rebounds and two steals for St. Maries (20-3).
Kody Landon had 21 points and six rebounds to lead Ririe (16-10), which will play in Saturday’s third place game.
3A State Semifinal | #2 Wendell 53, #6 New Plymouth 44
No. 2 seeded Wendell continued its quest for a repeat state championship, defeating No. 6 seeded New Plymouth to return to Saturday’s 3A state title game.
The Trojans shot 85 percent from the foul line in the win and made eight 3-pointers.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Jett Jasper had 17 points and nine rebounds and went 5-of-6 on foul shots, Jonathan Swainston had 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and went 4-of-6 on foul shots and Jordon Swainston had 14 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal for the Trojans (24-2), who will play No. 1 seeded St. Maries for the state championship.
Carter Ziemer had 10 points and Cohen Evans had nine points and nine rebounds for New Plymouth (19-8), which will play No. 4 seeded Ririe in Saturday’s third place game.
2A State Semifinal | #1 Kendrick 75, #4 North Star Charter 51
No. 1 seeded Kendrick advanced to the 2A state title game again upon shooting 53.7 percent from the field in a win over No. 4 seeded North Star Charter in the semifinals.
The Tigers shot well from everywhere, making 47.1 percent of their shots from 3-point range and 90 percent from from the foul line. Kendrick also had 38 points in the paint and scored 30 points off 13 North Star Charter turnovers.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Ralli Roetcisoender had 29 points, went 5-of-9 from 3-point range and 4-of-4 on foul shots, Nathan Tweit had 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals and Hudson Kirkland added 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal for Kendrick (22-3).
Paul Cougher had 13 points for North Star Charter (18-5), which will play in Saturday’s third place game.
2A State Semifinal | #2 Lakeside 57, #3 Prairie 52
No. 2 seeded Lakeside beat No. 3 seeded Prairie for the third time in as many meetings this season, this time for a 2A state semifinal win.
The game had 11 lead changes, four ties and a combined 60 rebounds and 12 3-pointers. The Knights shot 46.7 percent from the field and had 28 points in the paint in the win.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Tyson Charley had a double-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals and went 7-of-8 on foul shots, Hallah Peone had 15 points and went 4-of-6 on foul shots and Teagan Brown had 13 points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals for Lakeside (21-2), which will play No. 1 seeded Kendrick for the state championship.
Patrick Schlader had a double-double of a game-high 20 points, 12 rebounds and three steals and went 3-of-6 from 3-point range while Riley Shears had 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Prairie (19-7), which will play No. 4 seeded North Star Charter in Saturday’s third place game.
1A State Semifinal | #1 Rockland 68, #5 Carey 29
No. 1 seeded Rockland shot 50 percent from the field in a dominant semifinal win over No. 5 seeded Carey to remain undefeated versus 1A competition this season and secure a spot in Saturday’s state championship game.
The Bulldogs led by as much as 40 points and scored 18 points off 17 Carey turnovers.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Woodrow Lowder had 27 points and four steals for the Bulldogs (24-2), who extended their win streak to 20 games with the win.
Carter Olsen had nine points for Carey (16-9), which will play in Saturday’s third place game.
1A State Semifinal | #3 Garden Valley 60, #2 Watersprings 56
No. 3 seeded Garden Valley survived 10 lead changes and three ties to defeat No. 2 seeded Watersprings and advance to its first state championship game in five years.
The biggest lead of the contest was six points.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Maxon Yearsley had 19 points and four assists, Madix Miller added a double-double of 13 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals and Elijah Marchand had 13 points, five rebounds and two steals for the Wolverines (22-2), who will play No. 1 seeded Rockland in Saturday’s 1A state championship game.
Korban Nelson had a game-high 27 points, four assists and two steals and Ryan Demkowicz had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds for Watersprings (23-4), which will play No. 5 seeded Carey in Saturday’s third place game.
Consolation Games
6A State Consolation Game | #4 Kuna 49, #8 Rigby 46
No. 4 seeded Kuna bounced back from a halftime deficit, pouring in 23 points in the fourth quarter to defeat No. 8 seeded Rigby for a consolation bracket win at Rocky Mountain High School.
Rigby led 29-14 at halftime and 41-26 after three quarters before being held to five points in the fourth.
IdahoSports.com's Player of the Game was Kolter Hoffler, whose only bucket was the game-winning 3-pointer. Hendrix Castro added 10 points and three steals for Kuna (19-7), which advances to Saturday’s consolation final.
Weston Walker had 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals and Jacob Love added nine points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal for Rigby, which ends the season 10-16.
6A State Consolation Game | #7 Capital 70, #6 Timberline 65
No. 7 Capital defeated No. 6 seeded Timberline for the second time in four meetings this season, this time in a season-preserving consolation bracket win.
Capital led by as much as 16 points early on before Timberline trimmed the lead to single digits and poured in 43 points in the second half. The Eagles shot 55.3 percent from the field for the game and also shot 46.2 percent from 3-point range.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Quincey Clay had 22 points, four rebounds, five assists and one steal and Carter Komoda added 10 points and two rebounds for Capital (16-12), which will play in Saturday’s consolation final.
Collin Morris had 18 points and six rebounds, Kole Hudson had 11 points, three rebounds and five assists and Benton Bates had 10 points for Timberline, which ends the season 16-11.
5A State Consolation Game | #5 Vallivue 94, #8 Burley 72
No. 5 seeded Vallivue shot a blistering 62.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range in a consolation bracket win over No. 8 seeded Burley in the highest scoring game yet this weekend.
In the process, a new classification record for most points in a single game was set. The previous high of 83 was set by Jerome in 2009.
The Falcons made 12 3-pointers in the win, had 26 points in the paint and led by as much as 22 points.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Xander Wilson had a double-double of 24 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal, Noah Mitchell had a double-double of 16 points, 12 rebounds and two assists, Zakary Hogg had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists and Victor Gutierrez had 14 points and 10 assists for Vallivue (20-8), which will play in Saturday’s consolation final.
Ryker Page had 24 points, four rebounds and two assists and Nash Gillette had 21 points, four rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and four steals for Burley, which ends the season 14-13.
5A State Consolation Game | #6 Twin Falls 77, #7 Bonneville 61
No. 6 seeded Twin Falls kept its season going with a consolation bracket win over No. 7 seeded Bonneville.
Both teams shot better than 44 percent from the field for the game.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Trey Billings had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, and added three blocks. Ty Hess added 21 points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals for Twin Falls (18-7), which plays No. 5 seeded Vallivue in Saturday’s consolation final.
Tyler Jordan had 16 points, Grayson Temple had 15 points and three assists and Logan Arnold had 15 rebounds for Bonneville, which ends the season 11-15.
4A State Consolation Game | #8 Filer 47, #4 Gooding 41
No. 8 Filer defeated No. 4 seeded Gooding for the first time in three meetings between the 4A Sawtooth Central Idaho Conference opponents, this time for a consolation bracket win to extend its season.
Five lead changes and four ties occurred in the contest, with leads no greater than nine points. The teams combined for 88 rebounds.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Cache Palmer had 14 points and six rebounds for Filer (11-15), which will play in Saturday’s consolation final.
Bridger Pope had 15 points and seven rebounds and Max Kelsey had 12 points for Gooding, which ends the season 14-8.
4A State Consolation Game | #6 Marsh Valley 62, #7 Homedale 47
No. 6 seeded Marsh Valley bounced back from an opening-round loss with a consolation bracket win over No. 7 seeded Homedale.
The Eagles made nine 3-pointers in the game, which had three lead changes and one tie.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Jaxson Smith had 23 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals, Tate Whitworth added 14 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal and Nash Guthrie had 13 points and four rebounds for Marsh Valley (16-11), which will play No. 8 seeded Filer in Saturday’s consolation final.
Lukas Hall had 18 points, three rebounds and four assists for Homedale, which ends the season 14-10.
3A State Consolation Game | #5 Firth 76, #8 Parma 58
No. 5 seeded Firth had a massive second half surge and defeated No. 8 seeded Parma to preserve its season.
Parma had the advantage early on, but Firth scored 28 points in the third quarter and built as much as a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter to secure the win. The Cougars shot 57.4 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from 3-point range for the game, outrebounding the Panthers 43-28.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Wyatt Killpack had a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal, Brycen Andersen had a double-double of 19 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four steals and Madex Howell added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists for Firth (16-10), which will play in Saturday’s consolation final.
Nathan Compas had 33 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals and Rommie Lewis III had 11 points and five rebounds for Parma, which ends the season 14-12.
3A State Consolation Game | #7 Soda Springs 60, #3 Orofino 59
No. 7 seeded Soda Springs held on for a consolation bracket win over No. 3 Orofino to preserve its season.
The Cardinals led by as much as 16 points in the contest which featured three lead changes, six ties and a combined 19 made 3-pointers. After finishing the third quarter up 49-38, Soda Springs was outscored 21-11 in the fourth quarter.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Gavin Hansen had 32 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals and Cooper Thompson had 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals for Soda Springs (16-8), which will play No. 5 seeded Firth in an all-eastern Idaho consolation final Saturday.
Nick Bonner had 16 points, four rebounds and two assists, Blake Barlow had 14 points, two rebounds, two assists and Jake Runia had 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists for Orofino, which ends the season 18-7.
2A State Consolation Game | #8 Grace 56, #5 Valley 43
No. 8 seeded Grace won a back-and-forth consolation bracket contest over No. 5 seeded Valley to preserve its season.
Grace outscored Valley 13-0 in the second quarter and went on to win a game that had four lead changes and three ties. The Grizzlies shot 43.8 percent from the field for the game.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Gavin Draper had a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Bodee Smith had 15 points and four rebounds for Grace (12-14), which will play in Saturday’s consolation final.
Devin Christensen had 14 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal and Reese Balls had 12 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal for Valley, which ends the season 17-7.
2A State Consolation Game | #6 Murtaugh 59, #7 Rimrock 40
No. 6 seeded Murtaugh built a lead as large as 22 points and never trailed in a consolation bracket win over No. 7 seeded Rimrock.
The Red Devils ruled the glass, grabbing 54 rebounds to Rimrock’s 37, and also scored 22 points in the paint. Murtaugh also shot 40 percent from 3-point range in the win.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game McCoy Jensen had a double-double of 18 points, 11 rebounds and was 9-of-12 from the free throw line while Broxton Widmier added 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals and was 5-of-12 from 3-point range for Murtaugh (19-7), which will play No. 8 seeded Grace in Saturday’s consolation final.
Liam Aquiso had 14 points, two assists and one steal for Rimrock, which ends the season 19-6.
1A State Consolation Game | #4 Timberline 67, #8 Dietrich 64 (OT)
No. 4 seeded Timberline sent a consolation bracket game to overtime and prevailed over No. 8 seeded Dietrich to preserve its season.
The teams combined for 13 3-pointers and 99 rebounds.
IdahoSports.com Co-Player of the Game Korbin Christopherson had a double-double of 22 points, 18 rebounds and two blocks and also made the game-tying three at the buzzer at the end of regulation to prompt overtime. The other Co-Player of the Game, Ares Mabberly, added 28 points, six rebounds and three steals for Timberline (12-6), which will play in Saturday’s consolation final.
Chase Norman had 24 points, six rebounds, one block and two steals, Gavyn Hoskisson had 14 points, five rebounds and one assist, Mac Shaw had 11 points and Morgan Denning had a double-double of 10 points, 15 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal for Dietrich, which ends the season 11-16.
1A State Consolation Game | #6 Greenleaf Friends 56, #7 Coeur du Christ 42
No. 6 seeded Greenleaf Friends preserved its season upon defeating No. 7 seeded Coeur du Christ in a consolation bracket game.
IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Brayden Perelli-Minetti had 24 points and made five 3-pointers for Greenleaf Friends (18-10), which will play No. 8 seeded Grace in Saturday’s consolation final.
Coeur du Christ ends the season 14-8.
