We are all about the Archers this week. 

The Ambrose School Archers have established themselves as one of Idaho’s most dominant volleyball programs in 2026. The defending 3A state champions entered the final week of September with a 19–0 record, including an undefeated mark in conference play, and were ranked No. 1 in Idaho 3A and No. 8 overall in the state by MaxPreps. 

Ambrose’s success is especially notable because the Archers are not simply winning, they are finishing matches with pressure and are able to overcome adversity. The Archers are doing it with a roster built around several returning All-State players from last year’s championship team. The team has also shown the ability to win in many environments, as last week they found a way to win in a five-set test against Nampa Christian.


Key Players:

Anna Campbell — Senior, OH/S, 5'11"

Campbell is the centerpiece of the Ambrose roster. She was the 2025 3A Player of the Year and a first-team All-State selection, and she returned for her senior season as one of Idaho’s most accomplished small-school players. This season, MaxPreps lists Campbell at 4.7 kills per set, the highest mark among Ambrose players on its published statistics page. She is also listed at 4.0 digs per set. Campbell's versatility is particularly valuable because she can contribute as both a hitter and as a setter while also playing immaculate defense. 

Kate Clausen — Junior, OH/RS, 5'10"

Clausen is another major offensive weapon. The junior was a first-team All-State selection in 2025, and MaxPreps currently lists her at 4.0 kills per set, second on the team behind Campbell. Clausen gives Ambrose another player who can carry a large offensive load while contributing heavily in serve/receive and defense.

Lucianna Curran — Sophomore, S/RS/OH, 5'7"

Curran is one of the younger players on the roster. The sophomore already received second-team All-State recognition as a freshman in 2025, and she has taken on a major setting role this season. MaxPreps lists her with 38 assists in its published team statistics, and she has repeatedly posted big assist totals in individual matches. 

Scarlett Fernandez — Senior, Libero, 5'6"

Fernandez is the defensive anchor. The senior was an All-State selection last season, and MaxPreps currently lists her at 4.3 digs per set, the team's highest published average. Her ability to control the back row gives Ambrose the defensive stability necessary to run its aggressive offense. 


Overall Assessment:

The biggest strength of this team is balance and everyone accepting and executing their role. Ambrose can attack through Campbell and Clausen, run its offense through Curran, get production from the middle with junior Sasha Rogers and senior Eva Pinney, and rely on Fernandez to stabilize the back row. That makes it difficult for opponents to simply key in on one player. 

The Nampa Christian match provided perhaps the best example. Ambrose dropped the first set, but Curran produced 40 assists while Clausen contributed 14 kills and 19 digs, allowing the Archers to recover and win the final three-set stretch of the match. This team overcomes adversity TOGETHER.
