Starting with the 2026 fall sports season, IdahoSports.com has announced plans to produce All-State teams for the first time in the company’s nearly 30-year history.
Michael Lycklama, formerly of the Idaho Statesman, will help with the transition to the All-State teams being released on IdahoSports.com. Lycklama has handled the process for 12 years.
“The day has finally arrived for IdahoSports.com to become the new home of the Idaho high school All-State teams,” said IdahoSports.com Owner and Director of Operations Paul Kingsbury. “We have talked about this for almost 30 years, and we couldn’t be more excited to not only continue these awards for the traditional sports, but to add other sanctioned sports as well.”
All-State football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball teams will continue to be selected. Coaches throughout Idaho will be heavily involved in the nomination and voting processes.
Plans are also in the works to add sports that have not historically had All-State recognition. This includes cross country, swimming, track and field, wrestling, golf and tennis.
“Expanding this honor to more sports than ever before is a key reason why we wanted to get involved in this,” said IdahoSports.com General Manager Sven Alskog. “We are proud to be a part of so many special moments in the careers of Idaho’s student-athletes, and adding All-State teams to our coverage is a natural fit.”
IdahoSports.com is Idaho’s leader in high school sports coverage and has been serving the state since 1997.
