6A CLASSIFICATION

- Rigby (6-1 overall, 1-0 High Country Conference) trailed Thunder Ridge (4-3, 0-1) 14-7 after one quarter, 17-13 at halftime and 20-13 at the end of the third period.  Undeterred, the Trojans tied the contest at 20-20 with 10 minutes to play on a touchdown pass from Evan Freeman to Jaxon Nelson.  After a quick Thunder Ridge three-and-out, the Trojans marched on a 93-yard touchdown drive, capped off when Freeman scored on a 25-yard keeper with 6:17 remaining.  Now leading 27-20, Rigby pulled a surprise onside kick on the ensuing kickoff and recovered, but their next offensive drive ended when Freeman was intercepted by Kenyan Wright.  That gave the Titans new life, and Thunder Ridge responded with a touchdown pass from Ryder Portmann to Mason Gastelo with 1:30 to play.  But the Titans missed the extra point, and Rigby ran out the clock from there to preserve the 27-26 win.

- Madison (6-1 overall, 1-0 HCC) trailed Highland (3-4, 0-1) 6-0 in the fourth quarter of its conference opener before blasting off for 17 unanswered points in a 17-6 victory.  Jace Johnson scored a pair of rushing touchdowns for Madison and Brenner Stoddard added a 32-yard field goal.

- Boise (7-1 overall, 3-1 Southern Idaho Conference River Division) jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter against Owyhee (3-4, 1-2).  That lead proved critical as the two sides traded blows the rest of the way in the eventual 35-29 win for the Brave.  Sophomore quarterback Wayne Bower completed 15-of-21 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown while Jayden Walker also completed a 37-yard touchdown pass on a trick play.  Both scores went to Charlie Ruebel.  Walker also took an interception back for a touchdown on defense.  With standout running back Logan McDonald not available, sophomores Connor Tracy and Henry Terhaar each rushed for a score as well.
