Personal Bio:
My name is Andrew Tzeng, and I am 18 years old. I graduated from Eagle High School with highest honors this year. I finished third in my class with a GPA of 4.2934. I started playing tennis when I was 10, and I have never stopped playing since. I’ve played in many tournaments, both in and out of state.

Favorite high school memory, so far?:
Being undefeated all four years of high school tennis. I never lost a match.

What is something most people do not know about you? :
I also play the violin. I have been concertmaster many times.

Future plans?
I am going to the University of Maryland, College Park with a scholarship of $48,000 for four years.

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?:
I want to own a business.

What is the best advice you have ever received and from who?:
The best advice I have ever received was “Because I Can.” My awesome tennis coach, Duane Stotland, always emphasized confidence as a vital part of my tennis game. So, he repeatedly used the phrase “because I can” as a constant reminder to believe in myself. This phrase has also encouraged me to stay positive in other aspects of my life.

What advice can you give the kids coming up on how to get the most out of their high school careers?:
Practice diligently and play your best. Winning does not come without practice.

Your thoughts on being selected as one of the inaugural IdahoSports.com Student-Athletes of the Year?:
I am very honored and elated that I am being recognized for my efforts and accomplishments. This award represents my successes in academics and tennis as well as the time and effort I put into my tennis game, my studies, and the tennis community.

Nominated by Robert Sterk, Varsity Tennis Coach at Eagle HS:
"Andrew has proved himself on the tennis court by committing to many hours of practice needed to build the skill set for successful tennis. His record speaks for itself. His musical talents and being an excellent academic student confirm his accomplishments. What an impressive young man and I am honored to be a part of his life."
