Favorite high school memory? Getting 3rd at state basketball my junior year-it’s my favorite sport and I got to play it with my best friends. What is something most people do not know about you? : Most people don’t know that I’m a pretty good water-skier. Future plans? I’ll be attending Seattle University this fall to major in nursing. When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?: My dream job is to be a nurse anesthetist. What is the best advice you have ever received and from who?: I think the best advice I ever received was from my grandpa, who would always tell me to be a well-rounded person. What advice can you give the kids coming up on how to get the most out of their high school careers?: I recommend as much multi-tasking as you can handle. Being involved in school clubs and sports is extremely important. Your thoughts on being selected as one of the inaugural IdahoSports.com Student-Athletes of the Year?: I think it’s cool that kids are being recognized academically as well as athletically-and I’m glad that I was selected. Nominated by Scott Michaelson, Teacher/Tennis Coach at Homedale HS: "Hattie has developed into an effective leader in many areas of her life. She meets the challenges of academics in high school with determination to succeed and a growth mindset. Despite her varied Interests and the accompanying distractions she is able to focus on her goals and succeed academically and athletically. She is an effective communicator and inspires others to do their best and work together as a team. She demonstrates an ability to organize her time so that she can be involved in so many activities and yet appear to be fully dedicated to each of them."
