Personal Bio:
My name is Jacey Shaw and just recently graduated from Dietrich High School. I'm 18 year old and the oldest of three in my family. In the summer I spend most of my time as a lifeguard and work on our family farm. I have many interests mainly basketball, but I also love to swim, ride horses, spend time with my family. I'm excited to have the opportunity to go in and play for Northwest Wyoming in the fall.

Favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory would have to be, when we come home from winning a State Championship and are escorted by the fire department and the whole town is waiting for us to celebrate, as a community.

What is something most people do not know about you? :
I was on a swim team for 8 years.

Future plans?
I am going to go to Northwest Wyoming College to play basketball.

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?:
My idea of a perfect job would be a job that in later in life I can say that I didn’t work a day in my life. It would be a job that I love and look forward to everyday.

What is the best advice you have ever received and from who?:
The best advice that I’ve received would probably be, “Just play your game.”

What advice can you give the kids coming up on how to get the most out of their high school careers?:
Just remember to be true to yourself, work hard, and treat other with respect.

Your thoughts on being selected as one of the inaugural IdahoSports.com Student-Athletes of the Year?:
It’s a great honor to be selected and grateful for all those that helped me in the classroom and on the court.

Nominated by Acey Shaw, Head Girls Basketball Coach at Dietrich HS:
Jacey is an amazing person on and off the floor. She looks for ways to help those that need a hand. She is always showing encouragement to help those around her and help them to achieve their goals.

She has an amazing spirit and attitude about her. Jacey with her teammates can accomplish anything they set their minds to. Jacey has had a very successful high school career and has always remained very humble by the success. Even though she is getting ready to graduate in a week she is still looking after those in our community.

She is planning a fundraiser for our Athletic Director who has been diagnosed with cancer and is just taking her ideas to our principle to get an approval .
