Personal Bio:
I am 18 years old and recently graduated from Mt View High School. Growing up I wanted to play every sport I could. I played basketball, football, soccer, softball, roller hockey, you name it, and I probably played it. This has helped me become a more well-rounded athlete and I am glad that my parents had me play lots of different sports. I also grew up playing against my younger brother and he has pushed me and made me more competitive

Favorite high school memory, so far?:
Winning our school’s first state title my junior year with some of my best friends. It is a memory that I will carry with me my entire life. Winning districts this year was another great memory because no one expected it from us, but we knew we could do it.

What is something most people do not know about you? :
I love the outdoors, reading, and photography

Future plans?
I’m going to be studying and playing softball at Northwest Nazarene University in the fall.

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?:
I would like to be a high school teacher, and I would like to work my way up to being an administrator or athletic director someday.

What is the best advice you have ever received and from who?:
My mom always told me to never be afraid of being myself. This is something I have always carried with me because it reminds me to not let others thoughts and judgements affect me.

What advice can you give the kids coming up on how to get the most out of their high school careers?:
Get involved with your school and friends. The more involved you are the better because you get to experience all of the things high school has to offer. Don’t take your time in high school for granted because someday it will come to an end and all you have are the memories you made.

Your thoughts on being selected as one of the inaugural IdahoSports.com Student-Athletes of the Year?:
I feel very blessed and honored to receive this award! There are a lot of great student-athletes throughout the state so winning this award means a lot.

Nominated by Kim Orr, Computer Teacher at Mt View HS:
"Kylie Orr is the epitome of what a Student-Athlete should be.

She is a responsible, hardworking and dedicated leader on the field and in the classroom. It is challenging for these young athletes to figure out how to prioritize and balance their schedules, how to make time for study and practice. However, Kylie seems to shine in this area with managing her time well and succeeding under pressure. As a previous coach and teacher, I can say that she is an absolute delight to have in class. She has such a great attitude about everything. She understands that there are many responsibilities that come with representing her school and community and knows that everything begins in the classroom.

Softball is an avenue which helps this young lady further her education while playing a game she loves as she is attending NNU in the fall on a softball scholarship. It is a true pleasure to watch this young lady play ball on the field. Kylie is one of the best 5A players that Idaho has produced, she is a natural team leader which you see each time she steps on the field. She encourages, motivates and lifts her team mates up. Her team respects her and trusts her to lead the team in the right direction. Simply put, Kylie Orr is a clutch performer, on the field and in the classroom. This young lady truly goes above and beyond the standards of a regular Student-Athlete."
