Sierra Rice (1st Team All-Conference) Madison Holly (2nd Team All-Conference) Lindy Westendorf (Honorable Mention All-Conference) Kaila Sanders (Honorable Mention All-Conference)

Any “Key Players” that you lost from last year?
Logan Pergande (Post) – Lead team in rebounding as a junior and was third as a senior.

Do you have any new incoming “impact” players?
Of the 26 girls in the program, 21 are Freshmen and Sophomores. The program is very young, but the younger girls are very talented and worked hard this summer to improve. I’m expecting big contributions from Danika Langley (Number 33, 5’10” junior post) and Hannah Spero (Number 11, 5’6” sophomore guard). Danika was injured a good portion of last season, but came on strong at the end and worked her way into the starting lineup. Hannah brings intensity and great athleticism to our guard rotation. Jenny Mick (Number 34, 5’7” senior post) has patiently worked her way to the varsity squad. She brings toughness on the court and makes her teammates better players with her high energy and positive, focused attitude.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
As a team, what are your defensive strengths (individual names, general focus of defense): The girls are long and athletic. They play with great energy and passion. The top 4 shot blockers (Sierra Rice, Lindy Westendorf, Danika Langley and Madison Holly) and the top 2 defensive rebounders (Lindy Westendorf and Sierra Rice) return.

Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year:
The focus of our offseason was improving our man to man defense and communication.

Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season?
Our team’s motto this year is “Finish”. The theme comes from 2 Tim:4 and the girl’s desire to learn from last year’s district tournament exit in the third place game.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
We return all five starters from last years team and the girls have dedicated their offseason to improving on last seasons finish.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
They are ALL important!

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball?
My coaches in high school had a tremendous impact on me growing up. Coaching today provides me the same opportunity to invest in the lives of these young ladies.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
Being a Christian school, I have the freedom to challenge the girls openly in their walk with the Lord. I enjoy applying the game of basketball to life and scripture.
