In a conference where the turnover was fairly large, the returning talent Kimberly has could be enough to help launch the Bulldogs near the top of the conference standings.

After getting plenty of wins on the gridiron this fall, some of those same athletes will look to bring similar success onto the hardwood.

"We return 95 percent of our point production from last year," said third year Head Coach Daren Garey. "Our experience will enable us to play faster than we have in the past. We should have some flexibility on offense, as we can go inside and also have enough shooters to do damage from the perimeter."

That talent pool is led by All-Conference returners Zach Wright and Trey Garey.

While Garey will have plenty of an impact at some point this season, due to injury he will be forced to miss the bulk of early season action.

"Garey is coming off a torn ACL and we hope to get him back sometime in January to help the point guard position."

Even without the other Garey for the first month or so, the elder Garey has plenty to be excited about with the group in place.

A key reason for that is these kids know how to win.

"Several of the players were on the football team that finished third," said Garey. "They have some confidence and hopefully that will transfer to the court."

On both ends of the floor there are areas Kimberly will look to improve on from last season.

"We want to try to limit those offensive droughts that could plague us at times," he said of the offensive end of the floor. "We must be a better rebounding team. I feel like we can get stops, but if we give them multiple tries we will be in trouble."

Fellow seniors along with Wright in Braden Coronado, Bridger Gunnell and Jackson Randall will carry large leadership and productivity roles.

A group of five juniors highlights the impact newcomers.

"We have a pretty athletic group that should be able to put ball pressure on our opponents," said Garey. "We also can put a team on the floor that will be pretty long. Wright led our team in steals a year ago and is very quick and strong."

Any team in the 3A Sawtooth Central Idaho Conference could take home the hardware at the end of the season. Expect Kimberly to be one of the favorites.
