ORDER GAME PHOTOS

There were so many state bids/district championships won last night, we don't have time for a well-written thought piece on everything that happened. Let's get right into with all of the highlights, starting at the 5A level.

-- Lake City kept their season alive with a 66-59 win over Post Falls in the 5A District 1-2 third place game.  Kamryn Pickford paced the Timberwolves' attack with 20 points.  Post Falls' Capri Sims led all scorers with 28 points.  With the win, Lake City will face Eagle in a 5A State Tournament Play-In Game on Saturday at Grangeville High.

-- Boise defeated Rocky Mountain 49-47 in the 5A District 3 championship.  Both teams had already qualified for state, so this game was strictly for bragging rights.  Avery Howell led the Brave with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds.  Rocky Mountain was paced by Zoe Archibald's 12 points.

-- Bishop Kelly won the 4A District 3 title over Columbia 46-28.  The Knights fell behind 12-4 early, and trailed 14-8 after one quarter of play, but BK outscored Columbia 38-14 the rest of the way to clinch an auto bid to state.  Caroline Knothe led the Knights with 16 points, while Addie Hiler scored eight points and collected 11 rebounds.  Columbia's Mylie Mills, Jada Myers and Ellie Robertson each scored seven for Columbia.  The Wildcats will now face Skyview for the second and final bid to state on Saturay.

-- Minico dominated Jerome 62-42 to win the 4A District 4 championship on IdahoSports.com.  CJ Latta poured in 21 points for the Spartans, while IdahoSports.com Player of the Game Audri Gonzalez added 17 points.  Gonzalez hit five three-pointers for Minico.  Jerome was paced by Katie Larsen's eight points.  Minico automatically advances to state, while Jerome will host Twin Falls on Saturday night at 7:00 PM on IdahoSports.com for the second and final state berth from District 4.

-- Pocatello defeated Century 48-28 to claim the District 5 championship and secure the lone bid to state from the district.  Kennasyn Garcia led the way with 14 points for Pocatello, which advances to state for the first time since 2014.

-- Blackfoot went to Shelley and knocked off the Russets in a tight contest 58-55 to win the 4A District 6 championship on IdahoSports.com.  Shelley made things interesting late, as Brinley Cannon hit a three with 24 seconds remaining to bring the Russets to within three at 58-55.  After Blackfoot's Addison Tanner missed the front end of a one-and-one, Shelley got the ball back with 15 seconds to play.  Cannon missed a three from the right corner and Blackfoot secured the rebound.  Marlee Pieper missed the front end of the one-and-one for Blackfoot, and again Shelley grabbed the rebound.  Mia Williams' desperation heave from half-court as time expired missed, and the Broncos began celebrating.  Shelley will now host Hillcrest, which defeated Idaho Falls 76-76 in overtime on Thursday, for the second and final spot to state on Saturday night at 7:00 PM on IdahoSports.com.

-- Weiser defeated Parma 51-47 for the 3A District 3 title.  Both teams had already qualified for state, so the outcome doesn't impact either team's standing in our projections.  More importantly, Fruitland defeated McCall-Donnelly 54-42 to advance to a 3A State Tournament Play-In Game against Teton on Saturday.  We've been projecting Fruitland to win that game strictly on its MaxPreps ranking (which is higher than Teton), but that game could truly go either way.

-- Kellogg defeated Orofino in a tight 54-50 win to stay alive at the 2A District 1-2 tournament.  The Wildcats will now face Ambrose in a 2A State Tournament Play-In Game at Grangeville High on Saturday.

-- Lakeside sprinted past Wallace 63-41 to win the 1AD1 District 1 title.  Freshman Kyleigh Wolfe scored 19 points to the lead the Knights to victory.  Wallace, the defending district champ, was paced by Brittany Phillips' 26 points.

-- Prairie held off Kamiah 53-42 to take the second bid to state from 1AD1 District 2.  The Pirates outscored the Kubs 18-5 in the first quarter, and that initial burst set the tone for the rest of the contest.  Prairie point guard Kristin Wemhoff scored 17 points in the win, while Kamiah's Emma Krogh finished with 15.

-- Raft River clinched the second bid to state from 1AD1 District 4 with a 52-23 win over Carey in the third place game.  Reagan Jones and Libby Boden each scored 12 points in the win for the Trojans.  Katie Mecham scored seven for Carey.

-- Clark Fork defeated Mullan 58-24 to wrap up the 1AD2 District 1 championship.  The Wampus Cats advance to state, where they will be the number eight seed overall.

-- Kendrick earned the 1AD2 District 2 championship with a 44-35 win over Deary.  Kendrick raced out to a 23-9 halftime lead, and withstood a late charge from Deary to pick up the auto bid from District 2.  Ruby Stewart scored 13 points for Kendrick, while Hailey Taylor added 12.  Deary was led by Keandie Krik and Triniti Wood, who each scored ten points.  Deary will now face Nezperce tonight at 6:00 PM at Lewiston High for the second and final bid to state from District 2.

-- Dietrich held off Richfield for the 1AD2 District 4 title in a 37-26 win.  Hailey Astle scored 12 points for Dietrich in the win, while Siage Hubert added 11.  Richfield's Kasey Hendren led all scorers with 15 points.  The Blue Devils clinched the only bid to state from District 4 with the win.

-- And Rockland officially won the 1AD2 District 5-6 championship with a 49-46 win over Mackay.  The Miners will host Leadore on Saturday for the second and final bid to state from that district.

Here is our latest Bracketology.  As a reminder, you can follow all of the district tournament action here.  Teams will be seeded according to their MaxPreps rating.  Teams in bold font have officially clinched state tournament bids.
