MOUNTAIN VIEW 62, BORAH 54:  Destiny Slocum scored 31 points and Kayla Anderson added 13 as the Mountain View Mavericks rode a fast start to a 62-54 win over the Borah Lions.

The Mavericks started hot, taking a 21-7 lead after one quarter of play.  Kiana Corpus, who led Borah with 18 points, tried to shoot the Lions back into the game after halftime but they never got closer than five down the stretch.  Mountain View wound up leading the entire game.

As a team, Borah shot just 25 percent (6/24) in the first half.  Mountain View connected on 45 percent of its field goal attempts for the game (25/55).

Adriana Vickery chipped in six points and eight rebounds - five offensive - for the Mavericks, who will face conference rival Eagle in the semifinals on Friday night.

EAGLE 69, HILLCREST 68 (OT):  Jenny Stevens knocked down a short jump shot in traffic with less than 15 seconds left in overtime, lifting Eagle to an exciting, 69-68 victory over Hillcrest in a 5A state tournament at the Idaho Center on Thursday.

Hillcrest had the ball with the lead with less than 30 seconds to go before a Cassidy Tiegs steal for Eagle led to the go-ahead basket from Stevens.

Tiegs finished the game with 24 points, eight rebounds and six steals.  Janie King added ten points and five rebounds before fouling out in the 4th quarter.  Hillcrest's Lindsay Cook led all scorers with 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field.  She added four rebounds and four steals as well.

The Mustangs connected on 23 of 27 free throws as a team, while the Knights were just 18 of 29.

Eagle will meet District III Southern Idaho Conference rival Mountain View in a 5A semifinal Friday night at 6:15 at the Idaho Center.

CENTENNIAL 41, LAKE CITY 32:  A Lauren Brocke three-point play with less than four minutes left to play helped the Centennial Patriots fight off the Lake City Wolves, 41-32, in a 5A semifinal game at the Idaho Center on Thursday.

Brocke's basket and ensuing free throw snapped a 28-28 tie that had been forged moments earlier by a Lake City three-point field goal.  It was the game's first tie as the Wolves had worked to battle back from an early 11-point deficit.  Brocke's bucket triggered a quick, 7-0, spurt that put Centennial back in the driver's seat for the victory.  It was Brocke's only three points of the game.

Ami Ti'a led Centennial with ten points in a game where both teams struggled to shoot the basketball.  Centennial converted just 33 percent of its shots while Lake City, led by the seven points and ten rebounds of freshman Bridget Riekan, only made 32 percent of its field goal attempts.

With the win, Centennial advances to the 5A semifinals Friday night against Boise.

BOISE 50, HIGHLAND 37:  The Boise Braves used its size to wear down and pull away from the Highland Rams Thursday night, 50-37, in a 5A quarterfinal at the Idaho Center.

The Rams actually led the game at halftime, 25-24, but only made 3 of 20 shots from the floor in the second half as the Braves slowly eased away.

Boise out-rebounded Highland, 42-24, and had three players in double-figures in rebounds - Mandy Simpson (12), Hannah Orton (12) and Isabelle Hadden (10).  Simpson and Hadden also combined for for 40 of Boise's 50 points.

Makenna Baker led Highland with 12 points and Kia Pokibro added nine.

Boise will meet Centennial at 8 PM on Friday in one 5A semifinal while Highland will face Lake City in a consolation game at 3:00.
