As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
We will be a balanced team that could get scoring from most everyone in the line-up. We have better overall team size than in the past few years and will be able to play more physical in the paint.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
We want to be an aggressive man to man team that tries to create an up-tempo game. With our size, I do believe we will be able to trap the ball more effectively than in years past.

Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season?
No. 1 Greater; As individuals we can’t have one person carry more of a load than everyone else, and if we play as a team then there will be no one greater at the end of the season.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
Our balance; We have had three amazing point guards in row that have been asked to carry us at times. This year’s team will have 10 kids that will all play a significant role at some point in the season.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
Jan 18th vs Snake River, re-match of last years State Championship Game.

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Perspective…..we do not have a ton of experience and with football going right into the start of the season, we have to realize that our conference season doesn’t start until Jan. 30th. We need to be good on that date and working towards that date up until then.

If you could change one rule in high school basketball, what would it be?
I would like to see us move to three man refereeing mechanics. The game has become so athletic that it is almost unfair to ask two people to watch everything.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball?
? I still believe in the long-term lessons that basketball can teach. Some of the finest young people in our school systems are the ones that I get to be around every day. I still love the lessons that we teach each other!

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
? I truly believe that my parents want the best for their individual son, but not at the sacrifice of the team. We have won 192 games over the past 10 seasons, and it is because parents trust us as coaches to do what we feel is right. That doesn’t mean they agree, but they trust…and any good team, business or company has to be built on trust.
