- Madison (3-0) outkicked Middleton (0-2) in a 10-9 thriller on Friday. The Vikings had taken a 9-7 lead in the fourth quarter on a 23-yard field goal from Gabe Robinson. But late in the game, Madison junior kicker Brenner Stoddard, perhaps the best kicker in the state, drilled a 48-yard field goal to lift Madison to the win.
- Coeur d’Alene senior Ean McClelland intercepted the first pass from scrimmage Friday night, and the highlights kept rolling from there as the Vikings (3-0) shut out Lewis & Clark (Washington), 58-0. Tannar Stern completed 19-of-29 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 106 yards and two scores on just nine carries.

Kuna has now dropped two games by a total of seven points this year.

- As mentioned in our 6A section, Bishop Kelly helped Idaho earn a 2-2 split against its out-of-state competition at this year’s Northwest Showdown. The Knights turned back Summit (Oregon) 28-26. The game swung on a blocked extra point by senior edge rusher (and Utah commit) Jack Henderson. That forced Summit to attempt to go for two in the fourth quarter to tie the game, which they could not convert, leaving BK with the two-point win. Eli Lynes ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns for the Knights. Quarterback Jaxson Brady added 153 yards of total offense and also found the end zone twice.
- Hillcrest held off a late Twin Falls rally to earn a 28-27 win on the road Friday. Logan Taylor went 16-of-25 passing for 207 yards and two scores for Hillcrest. Elam Miner and Maddox Ellingford each rushed for touchdowns. And Ethan Saunders hauled in seven catches for 164 yards and a touchdown. - Pocatello (1-1) raced out to a 16-point lead after one quarter of play, then slowly held off Nampa (1-1) in a 16-14 triumph. The Thunder, a young team a year ago, are hopeful that a narrow win on the road early in the season can propel them to greater heights in 2026.
- Idaho Falls (1-1) snapped a 15-game losing streak with its 39-7 win over 4A Teton. The Tigers’ previous victory was a 27-19 win over Century on September 13, 2024. Under new head coach Dustin Medellin, the Tigers will now try for two in a row against 6A Thunder Ridge this week.
