Jeff Duncan joining the IdahoSports.com team! (again)
Jeff Duncan has been hired as the new Sports Information Director and Head of Broadcasting here at IdahoSports.com.
Published: 6/4/2012 1:39:21 PM

I can't tell you how excited I am to make this announcement. It has been in the making for the last couple of years, but the timing was never quite right for Jeff or IdahoSports.com. The stars aligned this spring and everything clicked, allowing Jeff to finally come on board full-time here at IdahoSports.com.

Jeff has had a very successful career thus far in broadcasting:

* 2003-2004 Relief morning traffic reporter and board operator in central Oregon.
* 2005-2007 co-host of the local sports talk show, "Mike and the Mammal"  in central Oregon.
* 2005-2007 sports director, play by play voice.  covered Culver and Madras high school sports in central Oregon
* 2008-2009 color commentary on Century HS football/basketball.  Hosted local sports talk show, "The Sports Zone" in Pocatello.
* 2008-2010 play by play voice for Idahosports.com!
* 2010 sports director, play by play voice, morning show host for a radio station in Colorado.
* 2011 morning show host, news/politics show in Oregon.

Jeff will be wearing several different hats here at IdahoSports.com. First will be that as our new Sports Information Director. His job will be to make sure schedules and scores are all put in the database and kept as updated as humanly possible. This is make the information we have available more complete and make our Power Rankings more accurate.

Jeff's duties will also include developing and expanding our GameStreams Network across the state as our Head of Broadcasting. He will be creating new relationships with schools and training new broadcasters. We have teams all over the state ready to go this fall, but we are always looking for more.

One of the most exciting things about having Jeff on board full time will be the addition of two brand new features that I have been sitting on for the last few years. The first is a daily podcast called the "Idaho Sports Update". It will be 3-5 minutes long, usually, and will include the day's headlines and top stories from around the state in high school, college and maybe even a little bit of pro, sports. Watch for those to start up at the beginning of July.

The second is something we announced right before the spring state tournaments. The Friday Nite Flash Overtime Show will cover all the action from around the entire state. Breaking final scores. Interviews with coaches and players. Discussions about the hottest topics in high school sports. The bottom line is there will finaly be a state-wide high school sports show, every Friday night at 10:35pm(m). Once football is over, we will transition the show into a more "winter-sports-friendly" time slot.

We do what we do because of our love of high school sports and our drive for providing you, the fans, with information online. The addition of Jeff Duncan will launch the next phase of IdahoSports.com in a big way. Expect some very exiciting things happening here at IdahoSports.om next year.

If you would like to email Jeff to welcome him aboard, or to share any ideas of tips you have for the podcast or show, you can email him at jeff@idahosports.com.
